Orientation Programme

1. Objectives:
The Orientation Programme aims to equip the entrants of the profession -
• To familiarize the entrants with various dimensions of the Indian
Accountancy Profession.
• To develop effective communication and presentation skills.
• To groom and motivate the entrants to be knowledgeable and skilled
professionals.
• To expand the significance of practical training in the life of a professional.
• To foster values such as integrity, transparency and Independence in the
budding professionals.

2. Eligibility:
 CPT route students who are registering for Accounting Technician Course
exclusively shall be required to undergo OP before appearing in the ATE.
 Students coming through CPT route for Intermediate (Integrated
Professional Competence) Course shall be required to complete Orientation
Programme before registering for practical training (either before appearing
or passing Group-I or both).
 Candidates entering through Direct Entry Route also are required to
undergo Orientation Course before joining for practical training
3. Duration:
The duration of the course shall be 35 hours (5 days X 7 hours per day or 5 days X
6 hours per day + 1 day X 5 hours or 7 days X 5 hours per day)
The suggested allocation of time (for 5 days) among the broad areas of the course
contents is as follows:
• Day 1: About the Institute, Academic & 07 Hours
Technical Guidance, Personality Development
• Day 2: Conversational Skills 07 Hours
• Day 3: Office Procedures 07 Hours
• Day 4: Grooming 07 Hours
• Day 5: Business Environment 07 Hours
4. Teaching Methodology:
Multiple methods including lectures, case studies, presentations, group
discussions, management games etc. should be used.
5. Batch Size:
To enable effective and uniform delivery of the course, the batch size should be
restricted to 50 students. The minimum size of a batch should not be less than 12
students. In case, the batch size is less than 12, approval from Board of Studies is
required, but in any case, no batch should exceed 50.
6. Fee:
The fee shall be Rs.3000/- (Three thousand) per student on non- residential basis,
inclusive of course material.
7. Faculty:
Faculty Members may be drawn from experienced and well known members of
the profession, management consultants/trainers and members of the academic
community from Universities/Management Institutes etc. having at least 5 years
experience in their specialized areas. Eminent person of regional/national repute
may be invited for interactive sessions.
8. Premises:
The Course will be organized by the DCOs at the DCO level and by Branches at
the Branch level and by CPE Chapters (having IT Centre) at CPE Chapter level at
their own premises. Where there is no premise, it could hire venue for conducting
the Programme.
9. Exemption from payment of fees to Disabled Students:
Disabled Students, suffering 50% or above permanent disability are exempted
from payment of fee and compulsorily attending Orientation programme
